DESCRIPTION:Hamilton/Orofino Trip – Info Here \n\n\n\nMeet at 8:30 on Thursday Aug 21sth for a 9:00 or earlier departure at the Tully’s Coffee shop in parking lot at the northwest corner of Federal Way and Gowen Rd (Idaho 21).  Plan on bringing a picnic lunch with you this first day\, preferably in a cooler\, because you will need to do the same the next day.  Don’t forget your 2 way radio if you have one tuned to 5.1 \n\n\n\nFirst day route will take us through Idaho City\, Lowman\, Stanley\, Challis\, Salmon\, over Lost Trail Pass into the Bitterroot Valley\, ending in Hamilton\, MT.  We will have rest (potty) stops along the way\, with a lunch and gas-up stop near Clayton.  We should arrive in Hamilton in time to check in at the Bitterroot River Inn and still make happy hour and then dinner at The Edge restaurant\, just across the parking lot. \n\n\n\nOn Friday\, August 22\, meet in the parking lot at 9:00 for a meeting and departure by 9:15.  At this time\, you will have filled your gas tank and visited the local Subway or other similar establishment to arrange your picnic lunch for this day.  Our route will take us north on US 93\, with a detour just east to avoid construction.  We will turn left at Lolo onto US 12\, go over Lolo Pass\, then follow the scenic Lochsa and Clearwater Rivers (50 mph speed limit – this is not a speed event…)\, arriving in Orofino in time for lunch.  Plan on enjoying your picnic lunch on the hotel’s beautiful patio overlooking the Clearwater River.  Or if you prefer\, sit down to lunch at Dining On The Edge\, just across the parking lot.  At lunchtime\, drivers will receive a handout with some suggested tours for the afternoon.  All optional if you would prefer to just hang out and/or live it up in downtown Orofino.  Check in to the hotel after 4:00.  Dinner will be served in the upstairs dining room at Dining On The Edge about 6:30 PM. \n\n\n\nOn Saturday\, August 23rd\, return to Boise at your leisure\, or combine for a group return.  Drivers will receive handouts suggesting interesting alternate routes between Orofino and White Bird. \n\n\n\nBitterroot River Inn:  877-274-8274.   \n\n\n\nThe Edge Restaurant:  406-375-0007 \n\n\n\nLodge at Rivers Edge Orofino:  lodge@orofino-id.com   208-476-9999 \n\n\n\nDining on the Edge Orofino:  208-476-7805.  Closed on Sunday
